Aurora Aksnes born 15th June 1996 Stavanger is an Norwegian musician and songwriter. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves was released by Decca Records Decca Records in May 2015 receiving great approval by music journalists and media. Half the World Away - by Oasis to accompany John Lewis' Christmas ad as well as Nature Boy - by Nat King Cole is already two of the most notable covers the artist has done. Katy Perry shared a tweet that Perry promoted her song Runaway. Celebrate her special day. Aurora Aksnes' earliest memory of music was discovering a grand piano that was in the attic. She was fascinated by the possibilities it offered. Jan Oystein Aksnes was her father. He urged her not to do music just for fun or for the sake of development but instead, she was encouraged to pursue it. To achieve this she wrote her first new compositions. Bjork as well as Leonard Cohen are among her most favored writers. Her mother had informed her that her music would not just help her get noticed, and also inspire others to see their value in the world and realize what can be done with the songs and her music, she was inspired to start performing publicly. At age 6, she began to play the piano and at nine began writing her own songs. It was not until she turned 14 that she told her parents. Aurora wasn't a dream. Aurora claims she loves composing music. She says that music is her most preferred way of feeling anything.
